How to Generate Hype for a Website Launch

After months of planning, it’s finally time to launch your new website! This is an exciting moment and you can’t wait for the flood of enquiries, subscribers, and customers that are sure to come. The big day arrives and…crickets.
You could be launching the best website ever! BUT, if you haven't done the hard yards enticing your audience through social media, newsletters & in store events, then how are people going to know about it?!
Here’s the thing,
Marketing takes time and if you don’t start the process of promoting your website in advance, your launch party’s gonna be a real bummer.
I can’t stress how important it is to start advertising to your audience well in advance so that when the launch day of your website comes your audience is prepped, primed and ready to shop!
If you’re planning to create some excitement, be sure to give yourself enough time to get organised. Creating a launch schedule or plan as soon as you start your website project is highly recommended

1. SHARE, SHARE, SHARE
No one’s going to know your website exists unless you tell them! Use your social media accounts to create interest and hype around your new site!
Did you know people have to see something 7 times before it sticks?! This will be even more effective if you focus on WHY your launch is meaningful, not just to you, but to your customers! Highlight your point of difference to all the other businesses out there.
2. Sneak Peeks
Show your audience sneak peeks whilst your website is being built! Let them be a part of the experience, tell them your thought processes & the story behind why this launch is important!
3. Host a Giveaway!
What better way to bring in new customers & reward you current followers! A competition that involves sharing your product or service is a great way to increase brand awareness.
4. Countdown Timer
Countdown timers, especially in the final few days can help build anticipation! This can be implemented on your current website or you can countdown by sharing graphics like “4 Days until…” on your social media. If you’re launching a new product or service in coordination with the launch, that’s what should be highlighted!
5. Paid Ads
Even if you don’t typically invest in paid advertising, running a few ads for your launch can help pick up extra traction from potential customers. Focus on the offer or the giveaway that you’re running, rather than just stats from your site! The point isn’t to get people excited about your new design, but rather to get them excited & INVESTED in your business!
6. Utilise Video
Jump on Facebook or Instagram Live! Make the video interesting, tell your audience about the launch, the countdown, the giveaway, everything! There is no better way to gain your audience's trust than through video content, it creates a direct connection between you & them!
7. Work with Complementing Businesses
Chances are you work alongside other businesses, use this to your advantage! Consider reaching out to see if you can partner with them in some way leading up to your launch, they’ll likely benefit from the exposure too! Clearly define WHY this benefits the sponsor, influencer, or other business when you reach out, they’ll be far more likely to jump on board if they know they’ll benefit from it as well!
It’s never too late to start promoting your launch! And in the words of Salt n Peppa…push it and push it real good!
