The Best Method To Set Your Business Goals
By: The Visual Collective
First off… Happy New Year! Welcome to 2022 :)
To get started, it’s good practice as a business owner to take a quick minute to reflect on the year that just passed and make some goals for the new year.
Unlike New Year’s resolutions, there are actually productive ways to set goals and stick to them.
So how do we set business goals for 2022?
Firstly, goals are the best way to accomplish what you are looking to achieve in a timely fashion. They are essential to grow & evolve in business, personal life and anywhere in between.
My own business goals for 2022 at The Visual Collective include how I want to scale my business, but more specifically:
• Introduce a new service
• Work out how to work less but earn the same/more!!
Wait, Is that even possible? YES, it is my friends. Stick with me, and you too will be able to accomplish these goals.
So how do I actually go about setting my goals for achievement?
I personally use SOAR Goal Planning when it comes to business.
What is SOAR Goal Planning?
S- Systems
What systems can you implement into your business to increase time, profit etc? (customer management, social planner)
O- Offerings
Are there any new products or offerings that can be added to your services or product base? (digital course, ebooks, new service, coaching)
A- Awareness
Think brand awareness! How can you bring more awareness to your brand? (launch a podcast, get on tik tok, dabble in paid advertising)
R- Retention
How can you better retain your current clients/customers? (launch a Facebook group, do online webinars weekly, incentivise repeat purchases)
I recommend sitting down with a coffee or spicy margarita ;) and setting a timer for 1 hour. During that time you are to sit and think for one hour - 30 minutes brainstorming and 30 minutes writing the goals that make the top of the list!
Once you’ve written them - write them again. This time in permanent marker. Post them somewhere in your workspace and literally cross them off as the year continues.
I always like to set an hour just before the holidays come around to look at my goal list and my accomplishments just to do a closeout before the new year & new goals!
