Why we think outsourcing is the best small business productivity hack!
Firstly, to recap- outsourcing is when you hire a third-party company or freelancer to provide a service or handle operations for your biz.
Running a business is quite the juggling act, and for a lot of us, half of the jobs we’re working on don’t exactly fall within our realm of expertise.
I’m talking accounting, customer support, marketing, IT, the list goes on.
These are all very necessary tasks, but you don’t need to do them all yourself!!
Outsourcing allows you the freedom to invest your time into the things that YOU love.
And let someone else handle the rest!
If you want to grow your business, but you don’t yet have the means to hire a full-time employee, outsourcing enables you to recruit & scale without the overheads.
So, where should you start?!
Here are our top 3 tips for utilising outsourcing when growing your business:
1. Identify the tasks you NEED to outsource
Essential roles relative to your core business are often best kept in house, for example if you’re a graphic designer, you don’t want to be outsourcing your design work!
You could however outsource the administrative tasks involved in the job!
I’ve recently hired a second virtual assistant to help out with the little odd jobs that my team just don’t have time for.
This has helped us to take on new clients and continue to expand our little empire!!
2. Identify potential outsourcing partners
The success of your outsourcing escapades relies heavily on that of your chosen partner/s.
Ideally, you want to find someone who shares your values, understands your goals and is an expert in their craft!
Do your research, find someone that you can trust.
You're handing over some of your workload to someone outside of your organisation, you need to feel confident in their ability to get the job done to a standard that you would expect of yourself!
Which brings me to our final tip!
3. Take the leap!
If you’ve been on your own in business for a while, it can be a little scary handing over some of the workload to someone else.
It’s scary. But it’s necessary for growth.
Take the leap!
Once you do, you’ll never look back!!
Trust me.
