What makes a brand timeless?
Firsty, who really cares?!
Branding is everything when it comes to building a successful business. It’s your personality, your values, your aesthetic, your voice- it’s everything!
And one of the most crucial elements of successful branding is consistency.
This means you don’t want to be chopping and changing your branding all the time!
A timeless brand is a brand that grows WITH your business, it supports and enables its growth!
So, if you’re in biz- then you should care!
As a designer, when I’m given a new branding project I’m always thinking about how I can create something that’s going to withstand the test of time…
Creating a timeless brand requires more consideration than just the visuals. I like to think about the potential evolution of the business, the versatility of the branding and how I can create a lasting impression on your target audience.
Here’s a little insight into the thought process behind creation!
Growth
Businesses evolve, and your branding should support this!
If you’re feeling the need to rebrand every few months, chances are your branding isn’t encouraging growth.
Branding that supports growth is designed with a business’s core values in mind- not just the aesthetics, the fundamentals that endure the materialistic changes!
2. Versatility
Timelessness is all about versatility.
Is your branding scalable? Can it be used and understood in a number of scenarios?
Brand design should consider any future opportunities of a business, when growth is the goal- your branding needs to be versatile!
3. Memorability
Creating something timeless doesn’t work if it’s not easily recognisable!
When you think of some of the world's most iconic brands- you can picture them straight away, right? That’s the impact branding should have!
Memorability doesn’t happen by chance- it’s a creative process that requires intentionality and authenticity.
Beautiful branding that WORKS takes time, it takes planning and it’s about so much more than just the visuals.
But it’s always worth it, timelessness is everything!
So, now that we’re on the same page… what do you think?
Does your branding have what it takes to withstand the test of time?
